Company leaders find it difficult to achievei Team Portraits. We can help create and keep them fresh.
Bring us in the next time everyone (almost, anyway) gets together. From those images, you'll get updated professional portraits and a team composite.
What about those who can't be there? Let Misty help you find a local-to-them photographer. We'll add them to the team.
Someone drops off? No problem, we'll pop them out.
New team members? Yep, that's right, we'll add them to the gang.
I had the pleasure of sitting for headshots at a conference recently and Misty did not disappoint. In short order she had me posed and quickly snapped a bunch of shots that we then reviewed together. The process was incredibly efficient! We couldn't decide between two poses - both convey a slightly different message. I am so pleased to have them both! Thank you Misty! - Ericka, conference attendee
We recommend that you avoid salty and high-fiber food, which can cause inflammation and bloating. What you do the day before and the day of your shoot shows up on your face and figure at shoot time. Also, come well hydrated, avoiding sugary and alcoholic beverages. Think of a grape (full of water) plump and full vs a raisin, which has lost its hydration. Lots of water, always, but also the day before and the day of your time in front of the camera. And especially on your way to the shoot - that one is spillage, not for hydration, purposes. There's nothing worse than a coffee-stained white shirt.
There is not a one-color answer. The answer is the color or colors which compliment your skin tone, hair and eye color.
If you have a blouse, shirt or certain color(s) which demands compliments throughout the day, then BINGO. More than likely that's your color. Don't confuse "Wow, Man, I really like that shirt" with "You look really handsome today."
You can also take it a step further by putting on a mini fashion show for your spouse, daughter or friend. Be sure it someone you can trust to give their honest opinion. Several members of the PBMisty team took it a step further and had their color analysis done. Not only were we able to clean out our closets, but now we show up looking our best - not just on picture day - but every day.
If you don't wear a tie to your VIBusiness meetings, then do not wear a tie for pictures. How do you show up when it matters most? That's the short answer for the type of attire. But let's dive into the logistics. Three-quarter or long-sleeves are best, stay away from patterns, unless they are peeking out from under a well-fitted jacket. A pop of color demands attention. If that's too bold for you, bring that jacket. Well-fitting attire is the key (in addition to our lighting and posing expertise) to slenderizing final results. Attire that is too big, flowy sleeves, billowy bodices, and open jackets add bulk and make you appear larger than reality. The same is true when your buttoned jacket or pants create stress (the force of closing them) lines.
Of course, but keep it minimal. Classic pieces work best - as not to date the picture. Unless, of course, chunky accessories are a part of your brand. Long chains in a headshot give the illusion (since we typically cannot see the piece in its entirety) of a cord for reading glasses or a conference badge. You are always welcome to bring options, and we can access them together.
Bring anything that helps tell your story. If you are a chiropractor, bring Boney Bob. Oftentimes, we cannot tell while scrolling through LinkedIn if someone is a banker, brick-layer or boss woman. Let's give your audience a reason to stop and stay awhile.
If you wear glasses on a regular basis, then it’s better to have them in your headshot. In case you want to remove them, make sure that you take them off hours before your session to avoid marks on your face.
By seeing your stylist a week out, it gives your hair a chance to settle into the cut or color. Try to avoid a new style right before showtime. And, men, be sure your stylist (or take it upon yourself) trims those sporadic nose and ear hairs and pays attention to your eyebrows. Also, trim your facial hairs, Gents (that goes for you, too, ladies ;)
Generally, you want to look approachable, professional, reliable, and dignified in your headshots. A slight smile would usually do the trick. A huge grin isn’t necessary, especially if you’re not used to it and depending on your profession or line of business. It’s best to practice in front of the mirror first and imagine how you want your audience to feel once they see you. Do you want to look fun and candid? Or are you going for a more serious and stoic look that tells your clients they’re in safe hands?
