Corporate World and Photography by Misty
Corporate-World people we are not, and our headquartered clients don’t exactly understand our carefree, yet still professionally result-driven, way of doing things. For the most part, we come from two totally different mindsets, yet my team really delivers when it comes to working with our big-corp clients such as Frito-Lay North America and Globe Life.
We get told time and time again that our Plano, McKinney and other neighboring DFW clients have a great time and, more importantly, receive genuine business portraits because they truly feel handsome and beautiful, falling in love with themselves during the process. Honestly, we’re just doing our job with our corporate or small business headshots and annual conference photography work. However, sometimes our friendly competition takes more of a just-the-job-done, cookie-cutter approach. No scripts here - sincerity is a lot more fun and keeps it real.
Enough about us, however. Yes, Photography by Misty’s photographers earn more than starving-artist wages getting to know our clients, setting them up for success and delivering updated and fabulous headshots and professional images to Plano and the DFW areas. However, sometimes we are the ones who should be paying our clients versus what really happens. We get to pop in and oftentimes get to stay and listen to incredible presentations. So much so, my associate photographer Kenneth often expresses a desire to seek full-time employment with several of those who bring us in for the week.
There’s so much about the corporate world we love: well-dressed people with amazing brains and ideas, backed by a team of others who are just as innovative and intelligent. So many times we want to camera-drop, instead picking up a pen and paper. Ok, ok, so yes I am a GenXer; most people would say they’d pick up their phone and open Notes. C-suite America oftentimes surprise us, too, by interacting with humor, silly faces and occasionally divulging their extremely personal stories.
Very few of our clients would jump into the furniture-moving and no-red-tape problem-solving photography realm, while at the same time, I am not sure any of us really desire to go into the multi-tiered management and Wall-Street-focused domain.
Regardless if an EE would ever permanently hop into our world or one of us into theirs, we work really well together, achieving what we came together to do.
