Shame on the competition.
For those who know us well at Photography by Misty, you are well aware that we verse, not curse, our competition. If we can't help you, we know someone who can. Our clients, or even those just finding us on Google, are introduced to another professional photographer if their needs do not fit our areas of expertise. Sure, that might mean giving away a potentially great client. However, we like to treat our clients the way they want to be treated - with the respect and great client services they deserve.
So, why the first statement "Shame on the competition?" While we love many photographers in our area, the industry as a whole is not very reliable. My two best clients in 2020 - and now beyond - were scored because other area "professionals" canceled at the very last minute. Shame on them!! I mean, it was great for me ...
A big part of being a professional is knowing when to use what tools. Photographers have a plethora of tools in their gear bags, flowing from their storage closets and filling their trunks. We always over pack, just in case. But we do know when to hold them. For instance, we didn't ask Governor Abbott to get on a barstool while taking his picture at the Dallas Farmers Market. And we don't use a tripod when chasing Littles around a park.
Our tools of the trade are not just those we load up and haul around town for our Hassle-Free Headshots or those cluttering our studio. Any professional photographer, graphic designer and even many of those not affiliated with creative professions subscribe to a little thing we call Photoshop. However, the capabilities are so over-the-top they could rival the best (worst) plastic surgeon. And, believe it or not, many photographers turn up every aspect of PS to 100%. The end result is animalistic or erase-the-face. My team has recreated many headshots because other studios didn't know when to slide those filters to the left.
Our philosophy is genuine edits - so slight you'll just know it's your fave picture of yourself. Your final enhanced image will be you on your very best day - the way people see you in person. Not frozen in a still portrait.
We believe at the culmination of a professional photography session, you should receive genuine images. Hope to see you soon at Photography by Misty
