Thinking about staying away from the crowds that take over your favorite restaurants this time of year, but still want to celebrate your love for one another? Try having a date night in. A romantic, candle-lit dinner might be just what you and your valentine crave. This is exactly what my hubby and I did for Valentine's Day and actually celebrated two days before because...life got hectic! We decided to cook dinner together which consisted of cooking the BEST steaks (thank you Chef Ramsey), asparagus, au gratin potatoes (from scratch) and peach cobbler with ice cream!! So what makes this dinner unique from any other dinner during the week? Cooking it together, treating ourselves to dessert and candlelights! I would add wine in there too but that's a pretty normal evening delicacy for us, ha!
Here's some ideas for your next Date Night In, you're welcome:
- Romantic Scavenger Hunt (my husband did this once, and it was so fun figuring out the clues)
- Dinner on the roof (talk about unforgettable, just make sure it's not too steep)
- Dessert cook off (watching my husband "try" to bake is one of my favorite past times)
- Write gratitude lists to each other
- Camp out in the backyard if weather permitting
- Monopoly (seriously, when's the last time you played Monopoly?!)
