Headshots May Lead to Product Photography
While updating ABB’s Plano headshots, the marketing director was reminded the company also needed professional product images to update their catalog. Their catalog is mailed out to clients, potential clientele and given out to tradeshow connections. Having part numbers and product pictures at their fingertips helps those seeking ABB’s offerings order with ease.
Within two weeks, we created 100s of headshots, taken on the company-branded backdrop, then we started photographing electronic components, testing tunnels, hardware housing and many other sophisticated testing mechanisms and parts and pieces used by ABB’s consumers.
Heck, we even created branding images of their engineers for social media and ABB’s website. Visual marketing tools are just as important for B2B endeavors are they are for B2C small and big businesses alike.
Not all of our clients have catalogs of their wares. Some have only Instagram, maybe only advertise on Shopify, Etsy or Amazon. However, if they are selling goods, product photography is essential to getting out a message as professional as their candles, golf simulators, exquisite perfumes and more. Product images can be as simple as a png, shot on an all-white backdrop or stylized in order to tell a complete story.
When working with Gold Soul candle company, Small Business Owner Miesha gave us a list of ingredients, and our product photographer Jenny curated a shopping list. Whala, we (she) created stylized images, which told more of the GS story and attracted people to our Holiday Pop-up with Santa Donnie at Legacy West in Plano, of course.
Stylized images show the bigger picture - literally. They help clients envision a better life or a more relaxed lifestyle or an enhanced work-life balance when they use your products.
Storefronts and on-line-only businesses alike also use our models to take the message to an entirely new level. Even businesses without a product, storefront or website solicit product photography. Wait … what? One of our clients pops up on non-profit bid sites to raise money selling whiskeys and bourbons. Afterall, well-sought-out spirits such as Pappy Van Winkles, Old Rip Van Winkle, Sazerac and Eagle Rare deserve beautiful, non-reflected imagery as well.
